A Classic Tale Of Love And Sacrifice
By Bimal Mitra
The serial is based on Bimal Mitra's classic 'Eai Nara Deha'. Bimal
Mitra had a premonition that this would be his last literary work.
He had personally expressed the desire that Mr. Rakesh Chowdhary
should make a serial based on this novel. In the story Mrs. Kanaklata
Devi Mukherjee is a matriarch and a scion of the Mukherjee family.
The beautiful brides from affluent families that she sought for
her two sons turned out to be arrogant unruly daughters in laws.
Later Kanaklata saw the death of one of her sons and his wife in
an air crash.
Today
the other son is estranged. Kanaklata is taking the entire responsibility
of her grandson Saumya. After two bitter experiences Kanaklata decides
to prevent further disintegration of the family. She selects and
grooms Vishakha a simple girl from a poor family to be her future
grand daughter in law. However the flamboyant and arrogant Saumya
is a total mismatch for a well brought up girl like Vishakha. Meanwhile
Vishakha finds herself drawn towards Sandeep who is an employee
in the Mukherjee's business. Vishakha who is being groomed for the
master of the house finds herself falling in love with an employee.
Sandeep and Vishakha realise that they are made for each other,
yet they decide to sacrifice their love. Meanwhile Vishakha's cousin
Kamini begins to covet the wealth of the Mukherjee family. She traps
Saumya in a web of desire. Sandeep does sacrifice after sacrifice
to ensure Vishakha's happiness.
The
situations lead to a masterful roller coaster of drama and emotion,
which grips the audience thoroughly.
